As an Application Engineering Project Manager for the Marine industry, you will play a pivotal role in planning, coordinating, and executing technical projects. Reporting directly to the Director, you will ensure projects are completed on time and meet quality standards. You will manage a Project Specialist and work closely with the AE function, establishing the structure and reference for the marine market both internally and with clients.
Few examples of responsibilities:
- Mechanical Design: Develop and design mechanical components and systems, ensuring they meet project specifications and quality standards.
- Client Management: Manage clients’ requests and provide expert technical support.
- Parametric 3D Design and Bill of Materials Management: Create parametric 3D models and manage the bill of materials (BOM) to ensure accurate and efficient production processes.
- Drafting and Managing Technical Documentation and Reports: Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation and reports, ensuring all project information is accurately recorded and communicated.
- Supplier Relations: Manage supplier relations, coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and components.
- Team management: As a manager, you will oversee and coordinate the activities of a Project Specialist reporting to you.
Ideal Background:
- Degree in Mechanical or Naval Engineering.
- At least 3 years of experience as a Project Engineer in the naval or nautical sector.
- Mechanical design (traditional, not AM) – 2D and 3D CAD
- Knowledge of naval composite and fiberglass processes
- Nice to have: knowledge of DFAM (Design for Additive Manufacturing)
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with a team, other departments, and external stakeholders
- Problem-solving and passion for innovation
- Leadership: Inspire and motivate teams, set clear goals, create a positive work environment and guide the team towards achieving objectives
- Italian Language proficiency is mandatory
- English Language Level intermediate (B2/C1)
